How to See and Cancel Subscriptions on iPhone

By GrowAppStore · Updated 2026-10-21 · 3 min read

Short answer: Open Settings, tap your name → Subscriptions, choose the subscription and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. For a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.

Subscriptions are designed to be forgotten. A free trial you meant to cancel, a fitness app you stopped opening, a "pro" tier for one project, and suddenly you're paying for five things a month that you don't use. Here's how to find and stop them.

How do I see all my subscriptions on iPhone?

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap your name at the top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.

You'll see Active and Expired subscriptions billed through your Apple account, with renewal dates and prices. Alternatively, open the App Store, tap your profile picture and choose Subscriptions.

How do I cancel a subscription?

  1. In the Subscriptions list, tap the subscription.
  2. Tap Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial).
  3. Confirm.

You'll normally keep access until the end of the current billing period. If you don't see a cancel button, it's already cancelled and will end on the date shown.

How do I avoid being charged after a free trial?

Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Apple's standard renewal terms require auto-renew to be switched off at least a day before the period ends. Set a reminder the day you start the trial, because a note in your calendar is more reliable than memory. You can cancel immediately after starting a trial and still use it until the trial period ends.

What if I can't find the subscription?

  • Check the other Apple ID. If you've used more than one Apple account, check each.
  • Check Family Sharing. The family organiser may be paying for a subscription shared with you.
  • Look at your bank or card statement. Subscriptions bought on a company's own website aren't in your Apple list. You'll have to cancel them on that site or app.
  • Search your email for "receipt", "renewal" or "trial". Apple and most services email you.

Can I get a refund?

Sometimes. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, choose the purchase and explain what happened (Apple's refund guide explains the process). Apple reviews requests case by case, and there's no guarantee. Cancelling stops future charges; it doesn't refund the current period automatically.

How do I keep track of renewals?

A habit works as well as any app: once a quarter, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions and ask of each one, "Did I use this in the last month?" If you're also trying to rein in other spending, our budget routine pairs well with this.

If you'd rather have a dashboard, a subscription tracker lists every plan with its price and renewal date and reminds you before each charge. Subscription Manager: Bills is one we list. According to its App Store listing it provides a subscription dashboard, reminders before renewals and free trials, and expense tracking. Its free tier manages up to 3 subscriptions, and Premium unlocks unlimited tracking. It has a 4.67★ rating from only 3 ratings, so it's too new to judge confidently. A 10-minute subscription clean-up

  1. Open Subscriptions and write down each one's monthly cost.
  2. Add them up. Most people are surprised by the total.
  3. Cancel anything you haven't used in a month.
  4. Move the ones you want to keep onto an annual plan only if you're certain; monthly is easier to stop.
  5. Put a recurring reminder in your calendar to repeat this every three months.
